Terms of Service

1. Age Requirement

BittyRETRO is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. All users must be at least 13 years of age to create an account or access BittyRETRO. A date of birth is required during registration to verify that you meet this age requirement. By providing your date of birth, you confirm that the information is accurate.

If a user is found to be under 13 years of age, their account will be terminated and any associated personal information will be deleted. Misrepresenting your age to bypass this requirement is a violation of these Terms of Service.

2. User Conduct

We want BittyRETRO to be a fun place for everyone. Please keep it that way by following these rules:

• No illegal activity of any kind.
• No explicit, sexual, or pornographic content. This applies to chat, room designs, usernames, and any other in-game expression.
• No harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted abuse of other players.
• No hate speech or discrimination.
• No sharing of another person's private or personal information without their consent.
• No impersonating staff members or other players.
• No attempting to exploit, hack, or otherwise compromise the game or its services.
• No mass creation of accounts. Doing so may result in all associated accounts being terminated.

Breaking these rules may result in warnings, suspensions, or bans at the discretion of staff.

3. Moderation & Safety

BittyRETRO uses a combination of tools to keep things running smoothly:

• Chat filtering to catch inappropriate language.
• A report system so you can flag rule-breaking for staff to review.
• A block feature so you can hide messages from specific players.
• Chat and message logs so staff can review reports and take action when needed.

We do our best, but we can't catch everything. If you see something that breaks the rules, use the report or block features to help us out.

4. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with anyone. You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Information We Collect

BittyRETRO may collect and store limited information strictly for operational purposes. This information is not sold or shared with third parties. The following data may be collected:

• Usernames and encrypted/hashed passwords for login and account verification.
• Date of birth for age verification purposes.
• Terms of Service acceptance dates and times to record your agreement to these terms.
• Chat logs for game operation and moderation purposes.
• Message logs for game operation and moderation purposes.
• IP address, browser, and operating system for session verification and security.
• Screenshots of the game client canvas for bug reporting purposes. These screenshots capture only what is rendered within the game client and do not capture any other content on your computer.

By using BittyRETRO, you consent to the collection and storage of the information described above.

6. Personal Information & Safety

Players are encouraged to use common sense and to be cautious of who they share personal information with. Do not share your real name, address, phone number, or other identifying information with other players. BittyRETRO is not responsible for any personal information you choose to disclose to others.

7. Intellectual Property

The original BittyBay intellectual property, including but not limited to game assets, artwork, and designs, belongs to BittyBay LTD or their respective creators. BittyRETRO is a fan recreation and does not claim ownership of any original BittyBay assets.

All additional content, code, and materials created for BittyRETRO belong to BittyRETRO. By using the service, you do not gain ownership of any game content, assets, or materials.

8. Virtual Items & Currency

BittyRETRO features virtual in-game currency known as "Bits" and various virtual items. These virtual items and currency hold no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, sold, or traded for real money, goods, or services. BittyRETRO reserves the right to modify, reset, or remove virtual items and currency at any time without prior notice or compensation.

9. User-Generated Content

Any content you create within BittyRETRO, including but not limited to room designs, chat messages, and other in-game creations, may be moderated, modified, or removed at our discretion. You retain no ownership rights to content created within the game.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate, suspend, or restrict access to any account at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. This includes but is not limited to violations of these Terms of Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

BittyRETRO is provided on an "as-is" basis. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the service, including but not limited to data loss, account loss, service downtime, or interruptions. Use of BittyRETRO is at your own risk.

12. Third-Party Links

BittyRETRO may contain links to external websites or services that are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

13. Disclaimer

BittyRETRO is a fan recreation provided as-is with no warranties of any kind. The rules and terms of service found on the original BittyBay website were for the original game and do not reflect the current environment on this fan recreation.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the original developers of BittyBay.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of BittyRETRO after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
